Industrial coating – certified is typically used in industry to ensure a uniform and
standardized solution for surface treatment of metal parts exposed to atmospheric
corrosion.
Industrial coating certification is typically governed by ISO 12944, as this prescribes design,
pretreatment, coating materials and layer thickness. The certified job is reported in detail
and verified by a Frosio inspector.
Typically coated in 1-3 layers, first layer a zinc-rich epoxy which provides cathodic protection, second layer
is typically an epoxy, which provides a barrier and 3 layers, a topcoat, which is UV resistant and can be tinted to
optional color.
The expected service life of industrial coating certification is also described in ISO 12944.
The expected service life depends on the design, the environment and the chosen layer thickness. Typically divided into
low, medium and high. (Hyperlink to tables).
Jakob Albertsen works according to customer standards, for example TOTAL-GS-EP-COR-350 Rev
15.0, Equinor NORSOK standard M-501, Saudi Aramco 09-SAMSS-089 and has several
Frosio Level III inspectors.
