Coating systems for the wind turbine industry

Jakob Albertsen has been working with the wind turbine industry since 2006 for the purpose of providing durable coating solutions for the metals used in offshore wind turbines.

Jakob Albertsen has APQP4Wind prequalifications and obviously has process management with PPAP.

Jakob Albertsen has large facilities and lifting capacity at its disposal, which makes us capable of handling even the largest wind turbine components. Painted components are IRA cured in order to achieve optimal hardening and quick delivery.

Jakob Albertsen primarily carries out coating of steel, copper and aluminium for the wind turbine industry. Steel is typically coated as industrially certified coating in accordance with ISO12944, typically a deburring / radius 2, zn/alu metallising, followed by a 2-layer barrier epoxy and one layer of UV-resistant top coat, resulting in a layer thickness of at least 450 micrometres. Copper is typically coated with Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE), and aluminium with epoxy primer and top coat, if coating alone is too colouring. The coated components are typically sheets, rails, grates, floor plates, banisters, railings and platforms. Coating is typically for protection against corrosion, but it can also be for insulation protection, for example on busbars.
