Sponge Jet

Read about our Sponge-Jet below

Sponge-Jet is an advanced method for surface treatment of metal surfaces prior to coating.

This method provides a particularly clean and rough surface while protecting the surroundings.

Sponge-Jet consists of sponges made of polyurethane, which are accelerated towards the surface, where they clean the surface and make it rough. Typically, the blasting medium, such as aluminium oxide, is encased in the actual sponges as small particles. The sponges blast the surface clean and rough while absorbing dust and impurities, which means that this method results in minimal rebound and dust.

There are several possible choices of Sponge-Jet blasting media, depending on the need for cleaning and roughness of the surface. The fine types are typically used to remove oil and fat, soot and deposits. The medium types are typically used for regular surface treatment, such as ISO 12944 industrial coating. The coarse types are typically used to remove materials with a high layer thickness.

The blasting medium is eco-friendly, as it weighs practically nothing and is therefore easy to handle, and also because it can be reused up to 10 times.

Sponge-Jet is very suitable for use indoors in industrial buildings, on thermal power units or inside tanks. This is particularly due to the low generation of dust as well as the advantage that the blasting medium is easy to handle.

We use a feed unit to accelerate the blasting medium towards the surface as well as a recycler to regenerate the used medium.

Sponge-Jet is characterised by the following:

  • Eco-friendly blasting medium, easy to handle and can be reused 10 times
  • Provides the best possible clean and rough surface out of all blasting media on the market.
  • Particularly suitable for removing pollution, as it is absorbed by the sponges
  • Can be used indoors and in tanks

Jakob Albertsen is a distributor of Sponge-Jet, which makes it possible to buy systems, equipment and blasting medium. It is also possible to rent the equipment on a project basis.
